Therapy in Amsterdam
Looking for Therapy in Amsterdam?
**I now have an exclusively online therapy practice. Online therapy is very similar to in-person therapy and most of my clients have found it to be just as beneficial as in-person therapy, particularly because I can understand firsthand some of the challenges that come with living abroad. If you prefer face-to-face therapy in Amsterdam, please get in touch with me and I’d be happy to recommend you with resources to find a therapist in Amsterdam.**
(You can learn more about my professional training and experience HERE)
I´m an American psychologist with a master´s degree and PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology. I’m also a member of the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP, Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen).
Though I´m originally from the United States, I lived in Madrid, Spain for 7 years prior to relocating to Amsterdam in 2016. My international training and experience working with clients from around the world, along with my own experience of living abroad, puts me in a unique opportunity to work with clients who are seeking counseling while living outside of their home country.
While living in Madrid I had a private therapy practice geared towards working with international professionals, entrepreneurs, expats, study abroad students and other individuals living a global lifestyle. I also worked as a psychologist at Madrid´s leading multilingual therapy clinic alongside psychologists from various parts of the world. I now offer therapy to individuals through my private practice located in Amsterdam.
Concerns that I treat in therapy include:
- Expat specific concerns
- Grief and loss
- Self esteem
- Stress management
- Eating disorders and body image concerns
- Communication and assertiveness skills
- Emotion intelligence and emotional regulation
- Personal development
I have experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also frequently incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion into therapy. One of the first things we´ll work on in sessions is to help you to establish your therapy goals and to ensure that the treatment plan meets your individual needs and preferences.
In order to get the most out of therapy, it’s very important to work with a psychologist that you feel comfortable with. For this reason, I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation so that you can get an idea of whether or not I might be a good fit for you as a therapist. You can also use this time to ask me any questions you might have about therapy, my approach and experience or about your specific concerns.
Would you like to set up this complimentary session, or ask me a question?
If so, please complete the form below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively, you can call me at +31 626 12 76 46. Please leave me a message with your name and phone number and I will return to you as soon as possible.
